Postponed – Family friendly stargazing at Roundhill, Bath

Update 11th Oct: The weather forecasts for 12/13th October are both overcast with a high possibility of rain. Hence we are going to postpone the event to a future date.

Bath Astronomers last visited Roundhill for public observing back in February and subject to clear weather we plan to carrying binoculars and telescopes to the summit on either the evenings of Friday 12th or Saturday 13th October. It’ll be a great introduction to the night sky from individual planets, stars and constellations and all are welcome. There will be several members on Bath Astronomers on the hill to tell you all about the night sky.

Bring your questions and binoculars if you have them. We plan to set up from 8pm each evening when it is not quite dark and only bright objects like the planets will be visible. As the evening darkens, the stars and constellations will become visible. Observing will be come to an end around 11pm.

The event is weather dependent and if it is cloudy an evening’s event will not run. You should check back with this web site 24hours before the start time to find out if it is on or not. We plan to run one evening whether 12th or 13th Oct – fingers crossed.

The event is also publicized on Facebook along with other events we are running https://www.facebook.com/events/443393226171432/
