Off the Rails, Tetbury

A short hop up to Tetbury for Meyrick and Simon to run a stall at the Off the Rails Festival. Over 1,200 visitors came to festival and Bath Astronomers were local right beside the Ice Cream van so we had lots of visitors but we may have discovered icecream and telescope optics don’t mix!!

The favourite of the day was paper rocket making and launching with dressing up trailing a little following the attempt of a fun group of mum’s to get into the the outfits of 8 to 12 year-olds. Unlike the glass slipper, none fitted this time.

Grey skies meant the solar telescopes were out of action most of the day but the trusty 8″ dobsonian got a work out, teaching people how telescopes work.

Big thanks to Nick Ullman for organising.
