26th Feb: Mike Foulkes’ Talk on Saturn

We are joined by Mike Foulkes on Wednesday 26th February at BRLSI for a talk on Saturn, our ringed friend.

Saturn is often considered to be one of the show pieces of the sky due to its magnificent ring system. It is the second largest planet in our solar system and has a large family of satellites.

This talk will provide an overview of the Saturn system, starting with some historical context and then goes on to discuss he ring system. It will also describe some of the large storms that have occurred in the planet’s upper atmosphere.

Mike is the Director of the British Astronomical Association’s Saturn, Uranus & Neptune Section.

Doors open at Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution (BRLSI) from 7:15pm and the talk starts at 7:30pm. Mike will be joining us remotely via Zoom.
