April Night Sky

April is when the Spring takes hold and everyone is smiling, even astronomers. Well as long as the April Showers are all in the daytime. The duration of the nighttime is reducing as the seasons move forward but there is plenty to see and we’ve prepared April’s Night Sky guide here for you to download

The Beehive Cluster M44 or Praesepe in Cancer is rising overhead in the mid evening and can be seen with binoculars or telescopes. In good, dark sites, it can be seen by eye as well as a smudge by the upside-down vertex of the Y that is the constellation of Cancer. Here the photo of the Beehive Cluster M44 is by Miguel Garcia.
